Tesla quarterly results - Tesla delivered 484,507 vehicles in Q4!

Tesla has reached the production and delivery figures for the fourth and final quarter of 2023. In the months of October, November and December, 494,989 vehicles were produced and 484,507 vehicles were delivered, which represents a new delivery record.

Unfortunately, Tesla does not currently publish exact data, but summarizes Model 3 and Model Y and the deliveries of Model S, Model X and Cybertruck. Tesla produced 476,777 vehicles in the fourth quarter, of which 461,538 were Model 3/Y were delivered. All other models combined, 18,212 vehicles were produced and 22,969 vehicles were delivered.

In the first three quarters of the year, Tesla delivered 1,324,074 vehicles worldwide. With a forecast of 1.8 million deliveries in 2023, this means that Tesla would need to deliver around 476,000 vehicles in the fourth quarter to reach its target. This seemed quite doable, as this is only around 40,000 more vehicles than Tesla delivered last quarter and 10,000 more than in the automaker's last quarterly report, which was only released earlier this year.

Tesla confirmed this with the following statement:

"In the fourth quarter, we produced approximately 495,000 vehicles and delivered over 484,000 vehicles. Deliveries increased 38 percent to 1.81 million vehicles and production increased 35 percent to 1.85 million vehicles. We thank all our customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and supporters for helping us to achieve a great 2023."

In fact, Wall Street expected Tesla to meet its overall 2023 guidance with a consensus of 480,000 deliveries in the fourth quarter and just over 1.8 million vehicles for the full year. More information will be available on the Earnigs Call on January 24, 2024.
