Tesla Model Y in the USA with new colors and modified range!

Tesla doesn't change its color range too often and is known for only offering five different colors to keep the production process as simple as possible, but last year Tesla added two new colors for the Model S and Model X in the US: Ultra Red in March and Stealth Grey in October. These two colors followed two colors that were only available in Europe for the Model S produced in Grünheide, Germany. Model Y produced in Grünheide: Quicksilver and Midnight Cherry Red. These two colors were available for the Model Y in Europe, but were never launched in the USA or China.

Tesla has now updated its US configurator for the Model Y and added the colors Ultra Red and Stealth Grey for the Model Y which were previously only available for the Model S and X. Stealth Grey is available as an "included" color, while the new Ultra Red is available as an option for 2,000 dollars.

In addition, when looking at the US configurator, it is noticeable that the range specifications for the Tesla Model Y Long Range and Performance have changed and have been reduced by around 6%. Specifically, the range of the Model Y Long Range from 330 to 310 miles and for the Model Y Performance from 303 to 285 miles. The exact reason for the change in range is not yet known, but it may have something to do with a change in the way Tesla conducts its EPA tests and these ranges are now closer to reality.
