After Tesla has also abolished the Autopark function, which automatically parks vehicles in pre-selected parking spaces for vehicles without sensors, with the discontinuation of ultrasonic sensors in October 2022, the Tesla has now apparently released a new, revised Autopark function with a new software update, which is presumably based on new neural networks that are also used by FSD Beta V12. The new Autopark function will also be available for vehicles without ultrasonic sensors (USS).
The revised version of Autopark is part of the 2024.2.11 update, which currently only appears to be available for employees in the USA. Initial videos show that the new version improves the visualization of the parking process and makes it easier for the vehicle to recognize parking spaces. The driver can choose between different marked points and the vehicle can switch between forward and reverse parking as required. In addition, the Tesla automatically displays free parking spaces and selects one nearby. All the driver has to do is stop the vehicle and press "Start" on the screen to start the automatic parking process.
It is assumed that Tesla in future will also support tapping a parking space on the display and exiting the vehicle during the parking process. There are also indications that Tesla that the parking functions may be controlled directly via the Tesla-app on the smartphone. The improvements also include an optimized visualization that now displays several parking spaces simultaneously, including parallel parking spaces, unlike the previous version that could only display one parking space.
The release date for the general public is not yet known, but it is expected that the feature will be included in one of the next updates for Tesla-vehicles will be available.
