The performance version of the Tesla Model 3 "Highland" is now available in the configurator

Tesla unveiled the long-awaited top-of-the-range version of the new Tesla Model 3 and has already been integrated into the configurator. After new images of uncamouflaged models kept appearing over the last few days, it was only a matter of time before the official unveiling. With a price of 56,990 euros, the new top version is below the expectations of many and is around 7,000 euros more expensive than the Long Range version. Added to this are the costs for the destination and authority fee of 980 euros as well as optional costs for other paint colors, white interior or FSD. Delivery of the new Model 3 Performance is expected to begin in Germany in the second quarter of 2024.

Let's now move on to the technical details of the new Model 3 Performance. There are differences between the Model 3 from Shanghai, which is also produced for Europe, and from the Giga Freemont, which is intended for the American market. The new Model 3 Performance impresses with a system output of officially over 460 hp and a maximum torque of 723 Nm. This accelerates theModel 3 from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 262 km/h. The Model 3 from Freemont manages the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. This is probably mainly due to the different battery, as a 79 kWh battery with cells from LG is used in Shanghai, while the Model 3 from Freemont has an 82 kWh battery with cells from Panasonic. The WLTP range according to Tesla 528 kilometers, while the Long Range version has a range of 629 kilometers.

Let's move on to the material changes of the new top version. In addition to the new 20-inch wheels and adaptive damping technology, the chassis control system has also been revised to ensure optimum performance. These modifications enable sharper turn-in behavior, better predictability and improved traction in corners. The latest generation of Track mode integrates adaptive chassis control with a performance-optimized drivetrain for maximum control. Visually, the new Tesla Model 3 Performance differs more clearly than before from the standard models. It not only features the familiar carbon spoiler, but also new 20-inch alloy wheels, additional air intakes at the front, a spoiler lip at the front, a sharper rear diffuser, a slightly lowered suspension and sports brakes, new, even sharper sports seats with an integrated Ludicrous badge and a carbon dashboard.
