Why is the Tesla-horn (sometimes) so quiet?
1️⃣ "Joe Mode" - Tesla's secret quiet mode? 🤫
Before you start your Model Y disassemble it, first check the settings on the touchscreen:
📌 "Joe Mode" active? This mode reduces some vehicle noises, but could also affect the volume of the horn.
✅ Solution:
- Menu → Vehicle → Safety → Deactivate "Joe Mode"
- Then test whether the horn is now louder.

"After heavy rain or visits to car washes, the horn is suddenly much quieter!"
👉 Theory: The new speaker for the horn noise is possibly susceptible to water - which leads to a temporary or permanent reduction in volume.

- Test it: Does the horn work normally again after the car has dried?
- Tesla Contact service: If your horn remains permanently quieter after exposure to water, this could be due to a defect or design fault.
