Tesla Release Update 2025.14 – New Features: Navigation, Dashcam

Tesla has released its latest software update 2025.14, which offers numerous useful improvements and new features for all models worldwide. Here is an initial overview of the most important innovations - note that not all features are available in every region or on every hardware. For a complete overview, check out our article on the 2025 Spring Update.

Alternative Trip Plans

With the new Alternative Trip Plans, you now have multiple route suggestions to choose from that meet your specific travel needs.
Available options:

  • Fastest: Provides the fastest route.

  • Best Amenities: Prioritizes stops at highly rated restaurants, shops, and restrooms.

  • Fewer Stops: Minimizes the number of charging stops.

This feature is available worldwide.

Avoid Highways

The navigation receives an update: With the "Avoid Highways" feature, you can now plan trips that largely avoid highways. Simply activate the option under Controls > Navigation > Avoid Highways. This feature is also usable worldwide.

Dashcam Update and Side Camera Recording

A long-awaited update for the dashcam: From now on, the side cameras (B-Pillar) of your vehicle also record both dashcam and Sentry Mode clips. Additionally, the dashcam viewer has been updated and now displays all camera feeds in a convenient grid view - making it easier to review and retrieve recordings.

Save Trunk Height Based on Location

With this innovation, you can individually adjust the opening height of your trunk and save it as a default for a specific location, such as your garage. Simply pause the trunk using the touchscreen or manually set it to the desired height during movement and hold the trunk button until an acoustic signal sounds. To reset the settings, go to Controls > Service > Remove Saved Locations.

Keyboard Languages

The operation of your touchscreen box becomes even more user-friendly: You can now effortlessly switch between different keyboard languages. To add keyboards, navigate to Controls > Display > Keyboards . Then switch the desired language by long pressing the global symbol.

Keep Accessory Power On

With the new "Keep Accessory Power On" option, your 12V outlets, USB ports, and the inductive phone charger remain active even when the vehicle is left – provided the battery is above 20%. Enable this feature under Controls > Charging > Keep Accessory Power On. Note that this option can lead to increased power consumption.

Minor Updates

In addition to the main features, update 2025.14 also brings various minor improvements:

  • Charger Location Page: Nearby restaurants, cafes, and shops are now displayed at the bottom.

  • Media: Search results for media content are now filtered by sources, speeding up access.

  • Streaming Services: You can sign in with an Amazon Music Free account (Premium Connectivity or WiFi required) and shuffle-play an entire Apple Music playlist with over 100 songs. Additionally, YouTube Music shows which song plays next in the 'Up Next' view.

  • Navigation: In the settings, you can now decide whether chargers outside the Tesla network should also be displayed.

  • Hotspot: The vehicle hotspot now connects automatically as soon as you start driving.

  • Security Updates: Various important security fixes and improvements are also included.
