Tesla's Gigafactory Mexico has received all the necessary permits to begin construction. The Secretary of Economy of Nuevo León, Iván Rivas, made a statement to boost confidence in the project. He emphasized that Tesla had already started construction work and had received all the necessary permits at federal and state level. The only thing missing was a precise timetable for the start of construction. It was also revealed that Tesla is planning infrastructure projects near the factory, including energy, water, road and rail projects.

Shortly after this information became public, the first voices were raised criticizing Tesla's decision to wait for an economic recovery as unstrategic.
