Tesla reaches milestone: Breaking the million mark in the Gigafactory Shanghai!

Tesla can rejoice and celebrate the next milestones in history. The one millionth Tesla recently rolled off the assembly line at the Tesla Gigafactory Shanghai. This means that a third of all Teslas manufactured to date have already been produced in the Gigafactory Shanghai / China. Tesla has already produced more than three million electric cars of its Model S, X, 3 and Y models.

Tesla boss Elon Musk announces the 1 million message on Twitter. The photo shows a red Tesla Model Y in the middle of the Tesla production hall, surrounded by many Tesla employees. It took a little over two and a half years to reach the first million, considering the start in early 2020. This announcement was expected earlier. However, the Gigafactory Shanghai had to interrupt production for several weeks in April due to the strict corona measures.

It is also worth noting that the Gigafactory Shanghai has reached the 1 million mark of produced electric cars in less than two years. In comparison, the Gigafactory Freemont needed almost 10 years to reach the same production volume.
