Tesla employs 1,000 ex-unemployed in Grünheide: "Biggest project since

Tesla has already managed to become one of the largest and most important employers in the region with the construction of its German Gigafactory production facility in Grünheide. More than 7000 employees now work at Tesla in Grünheide near Berlin. It has now been announced that around 1,000 of these employees previously had no job. According to a report in the Märkische Oderzeitung (MOZ), this was announced by the responsible employment agency in Frankfurt an der Oder last Wednesday. The hope that the electric car factory would become an opportunity for the unemployed in the region seems to have already been fulfilled. At the same time, significantly more staff is being sought for the German gigafactory. In addition, the German Gigafactory will be further expanded and steadily enlarged over the next few years.

According to the MOZ report, said was the thousandth person who was placed by Tesla, a 52-year-old woman from a neighboring community on Wednesday Jochem Freyer, head of the local employment agency. More than half of these new Gigafactory employees had previously been long-term unemployed, i.e. without a job for at least a year. At Tesla they would have found permanent employment. The cooperation with the company is already the largest mediation project since reunification. According to current plans, Tesla would like to have up to 12,000 employees in the first expansion stage of its gigafactory in Grünheide. According to the MOZ report, Tesla is currently looking for additional staff for vehicle production, but also for its own battery production.

In order to fill the vacancies, the employment agency specifically addresses people without a job, the local newspaper reports. Anyone who is interested will be invited directly to selection interviews on the Tesla site. There is still a particular need in the areas of production, machine operation, painting and logistics. There should also be a corresponding way of taking up work at Tesla for people without professional training. There are currently around 400 offers for Grünheide on the company's job pages.
