Tesla has the App version 4.42.0 has been released - and this time it goes far beyond simple bug fixes. Find out everything you need to know about the update here.

New 3D model for the Model Y 2025

The freshly revised Model Y (Juniper) is now also available in the Tesla-app a detailed 3D model. Interestingly enough Tesla calls the internal code "Bayberry", although we still use the new Model Y-version speak. The model in the app offers impressive details and is identical to the 3D visualizations in the vehicle itself - ideal for anyone who wants to get to know their new Model Y digitally.

First indications of Tesla Robotaxi integration

A highlight of the update is the new Robotaxi API endpoint called rides_feedback_upload. This indicates that Tesla feedback on rides will be collected directly via the app - an important step for the planned launch of the robotaxi fleet in June 2025.
It looks as if Tesla will use the existing app to Robotaxi function making it particularly easy for users to book and manage journeys.

New service UI for a better overview

The service section in the Tesla-app has also been revised:

  • Appointment status, date and time are now more prominently visible and can be transferred directly to the calendar.
  • Service center details such as address and opening hours can be opened directly in the map app with a tap.
  • A new detailed view shows transportation options such as rental vehicles or replacement vehicles.

Additionally improved Tesla the User experience (UX) with clearer language, optimized images and practical functions such as the pull-to-refresh for the service page.

Conclusion: Tesla-App is getting better and better

With the 4.42.0 update Tesla once again shows how important the continuous improvement of the app functions is - from the new Model Y to the upcoming robotaxi. Especially the service UI now makes visiting the workshop even easier. We are excited to see how Tesla the app will develop over the next few months - especially in the direction of autonomous driving.
