The tensions between Tesla and the IG Metall trade union at the Grünheide plant continue to escalate. IG Metall demands dismissal of works council chairwoman

Internal tensions within the works council exacerbated the situation. Schmitz is criticized for delaying IG Metall proposals, including a proposal for additional breaks, which 90% of those surveyed consider necessary. At the same time, she rejects simplifications to sick leave and speaks out publicly against the union's proposals.
At a meeting in May, the conflict escalated when an IG Metall representative was excluded from the meeting after criticizing the working conditions. The union sees this as a clear violation of the law and demands consequences.
