With the latest software update 2023.6.9, Tesla finally brings the long-awaited parking assistance for many vehicle owners with missing ultrasonic sensors back to Germany. A few days ago, the first owners from America reported to have received the corresponding software update. Based on the new software update, the Tesla uses a neural network to calculate distances without the help of the previously known ultrasonic sensors and displays them in the form of the familiar cm indication in the display.
How exactly the system will work and how reliable the indication is will gradually become clear. As usual, Tesla will continue to feed its own system with a lot of data and further teach and train the so-called AI. Presumably, the system will be further improved via new updates in the future.
