Tesla has started rolling out the new software update 2023.2.0.5. The software update is already available for download for the first vehicles. The interesting thing about the new update is that it should finally bring working traffic sign recognition to Tesla vehicles. We have summarized all the new features for you here.
Car steering wheel heating:
You can set the steering wheel heater to automatically regulate its temperature depending on the climate control temperature you set. To control the steering wheel heater, tap on the temperature settings to bring up the climate control panel. Alternatively, this can also be done as usual via the shortcut.
Guard mode:
In the future, when a threat is detected on the vehicle, the headlights will gently pulse in sentinel mode to indicate that your vehicle is recording video. The pulsing will end after 60 seconds or when the vehicle is unlocked.
Traffic Sign Recognition: (Only in Germany)
After the update, the integrated traffic sign recognition uses the vehicle's cameras to detect speed limit signs. This improves the accuracy of speed limit data on local roads and highways in selected countries. Detected speed limit signs are displayed in the driving visualization. Some Tesla groups have already reported that this new feature will be rolled out in Spain in addition to Germany.
New navigation language:
Navigation language guidance is now available in Thai. To change the language setting, tap Controls > Display > Voice Navigation Language.
