New V4 Superchargers to be installed at Gigafactory Grünheide!

Just this April, Tesla installed a total of 19 new Superchargers for the public in the parking lot of the Gigafactory in Grünheide. Later, this location was also opened to third-party brands, so that electric cars from other brands can also use this location.

Since mid-July, however, the new Supercharger site has been closed again, which initially caused confusion. It quickly emerged that the Supercharger site in Grünheide had been taken out of service again due to planned conversion work. First, all Superchargers received a roof with integrated solar modules. After this work was completed, initial observers could see that the V3 Superchargers, which had only recently been installed, were dismantled again. It quickly became apparent that Tesla was replacing the previous V3 Superchargers with the latest V4 Superchargers. Due to the conversion measures, the Supercharger location in Brandenburg was temporarily closed. It is not known when the Superchargers at the German Gigafactory will go back into operation.

The big differentiator of the V4 Superchargers, in addition to the taller and new housing that is closed in the middle, is a longer charging cable that should make it easier to charge electric cars of other brands.
