New information about the Tesla Model 3 Matrix light software update 2024.2

The first leaks on the subject of adaptive high beam, also known as matrix light, which will be introduced with the latest software update 2024.2 in the new Tesla Model 3 “Highland" seems to be coming true. However, since more and more vehicles have received this software update in recent days, it has also become clear that the older Model 3 and the Model Y will not receive this function, at least for the time being. Following an initial post in mid-January 2024 by a user in the TFF forum, which showed an excerpt from the release notes, two videos of a Spanish Model 3 driver have now appeared on YouTube, demonstrating the Matrix functionality in two videos. One shows the functionality on the highway and a second video shows the functionality on a country road. It can be clearly seen that the Tesla fades out individual segments in order to hide vehicles in front and oncoming vehicles. At first glance, the system seems to work very well. The reaction time of the high beam fading in after the corresponding segments have been faded out is also relatively fast. Activation of the adaptive high beam is of course optional and can be activated or deactivated under the Lighting menu item.
