Tesla has officially confirmed that the company plans to launch new, more affordable electric vehicles in the first half of 2025. This announcement was made during the Q4 2024 earnings call and was confirmed by CFO Vaibhav Taneja.
Integration of next-generation technologies
The upcoming models will integrate elements of current vehicle platforms as well as advanced next-generation technologies. Expected innovations include:
- Giga-CastingsLarge-format die-cast parts to reduce production complexity.
- 48-volt electrical architecture: More efficient electrical systems for improved performance.
- Bidirectional charging (Powershare)Possibility to both charge and feed back energy.
- Steer-by-wireElectronic steering without mechanical connection.
These technologies aim to reduce production costs while increasing vehicle efficiency and performance.
Focus on affordability and quality
Tesla aims to offer these new models at competitive prices without compromising on quality or advanced features. The company emphasizes that all vehicles will be equipped with the best software in the industry and will have autonomy features that will enable full autonomy in the future.
