Tesla recently announced that buyers of a Foundation Series Cybertruck in North America will receive a free XPEL vehicle wrapping in North America. This offer is valid for orders placed on or after February 1, 2025, with delivery no later than March 31, 2025. Eligible customers will receive a voucher for the wrap within 14 days of delivery. Installation must be coordinated directly with XPEL at one of their 125+ authorized locations in the U.S. and Canada by June 30, 2025. The voucher will expire after this date.
In the USA Tesla offers its own foiling services for approximately $4,500. As this service is not available in Canada, the current offer represents significant added value for Canadian customers.
Reduced leasing rates for the Cybertruck AWD in the USA
In addition Tesla reduced the leasing rates for the Cybertruck AWD in the USA. The monthly rate has been reduced from USD 899 to USD 749, which corresponds to a reduction of almost 20%. In addition, the Cybertruck AWD remains available for the federal EV tax credit of $7,500, further reducing the total cost of ownership for lessees.
Tesla's strategy to increase Cybertruck demand
These offers indicate that Tesla is actively working to increase demand for the Cybertruck, particularly the Foundation Series. Although production of the Foundation Series was discontinued in October last year, thousands of units are still available. In Canada, deliveries of the Foundation Series only began late last year, but demand for the electric truck has declined as few are willing to pay nearly $200,000 CAD for the Cybertruck. Last month Tesla added Foundation Series Cybertrucks to its existing inventory in Canada for immediate delivery for the first time. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of Cybertrucks across Canada available for immediate delivery.
