New KBA registration figures for October 2022. 1st place for the Tesla Model Y in the entire year 2022 so far!

New KBA registration figures for October 2022. 1st place for the Tesla Model Y in the entire year 2022 so far!

The Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) has published the new registration figures broken down by make and model for the month of October 2022. The well-known Tesla pattern of deliveries towards the end of each quarter becomes more than clear when comparing the last few months. Although the number of registrations increased compared to the previous year, the numbers were a long way from the record month of September. There the Tesla Model Y was the car with the most new German registrations and even caught up with the VW Golf.

The popular Tesla Model Y was registered exactly 1622 times in October, followed by the Tesla Model 3 with 1563 registrations in Germany according to current KBA data. At the top of the electric cars in October is the Fiat 500 Elektro with 2363 new registrations. The VW ID.3 was registered a total of 2160 times in October and the VW ID.4/ID.5 2115 times. It should be noted here that most other manufacturers deliver their models more evenly and there are not such delivery waves towards the end of a quarter as with Tesla.

In the year-to-date balance sheet for electric cars in Germany, the Tesla Model Y is nevertheless at the top. The Tesla Model Y has been newly registered 24.17 times in 2022 so far. The Model 3 is in third place in the 2022 annual balance sheet to date, with a total of 17,464 new registrations from January to October in third place

The months of November and December will be exciting. As is well known, all automobile manufacturers try to deliver as many vehicles as possible by the end of the year. Also at Tesla there are currently some ships on their way from China to Europe/Germany, so that the 4th quarter could also be a very good quarter. In addition, government subsidies for electric cars will decrease from 2023, so manufacturers want to deliver as many electric cars as possible.
