Hardware 4 in Tesla - New cameras discovered at the factory in China!

It has been speculated for quite some time that Tesla will soon release a new hardware suite for the well-known Full Self-Driving. Now, interesting details have leaked out on Twitter. Tesla has already adapted some hardware components in recent years to further expand the Full Self-Driving capability. The Full Self-Driving (FSD) software is still in beta and does not yet enable fully autonomous driving. If new hardware is needed to achieve FSD capability, Tesla will provide it free of charge. Separately, Tesla was also expected to improve its hardware suite over time while delivering on its promises through software updates that work on the older hardware.

It already leaked recently that Tesla will install new cameras and a new HD radar. This could already be installed in new Tesla models in the near future. In addition, a prototype of the Tesla Model 3 which may have a new hardware suite for Full Self-Driving.

The new hardware is often referred to as Hardware 4 on the Internet. And new pictures from the Chinese factory are now surfacing on Twitter about exactly that. Here it becomes clear that the front camera is apparently reduced to 2 cameras instead of 3 so far. This could then indicate a higher pixel density and a better field of view for the respective cameras. The new camera hub also now seems to be equipped with a new fan or heating system to keep the camera clean. The cameras on the B-pillar also seem to have been changed.
