Tesla now offers vehicle wraps for the Tesla Model 3/Y in America. This option can be booked via the Tesla online store or the Tesla app. The color selection includes seven exclusive colors: Slip Grey, Satin Ceramic White, Satin Stealth Black, Glacier Blue, Forest Green, Satin Rose Gold and Crimson Red.
These special films, which Tesla calls "Premium Color Wraps," are not conventional vinyl films, but colored paint protection films made from a thicker and more expensive urethane-based material. The films not only serve to visually enhance the vehicle, but also protect the underlying paint from stone chips, scratches and other damage.
Prices for these films vary by color and range from $7,500 to $8,000, including installation at select Tesla Service Centers. Installation takes around five to seven working days from the time the vehicle is handed over.
In addition, Tesla offers a colorless film for $5,000 that allows customers to preserve the natural color of their vehicle while protecting it from damage such as stone chips and scratches. The film is available in gloss or satin matte finishes.
The availability of this film is limited to vehicles of the Model 3 and Model Y 2023 model year and later and requires the use of the latest version of the Tesla App. Foiling is currently only available at two Tesla Service Centers in California (West Covina and Carlsbad); additional locations may be added as demand increases.
In addition, there is speculation that Tesla could also offer the foiling for the upcoming Cybertruck, as the truck's stainless steel body cannot be painted.
