We just recently told you about the new colors Quicksilver and Midnight Cherry Red. These two new colors are available exclusively for the Tesla Model Y LongRange and Performance from the Gigafactory Grünheide and replace the previously known Midnight Silver Metallic and Red Multi Coat. However, the surcharge for these two new colors is slightly higher than for the usual colors and is now 3000 euros for the Quicksilver and 3300 euros for the Midnight Cherry Red. Thanks to the latest technology in Grünheide, the new colors are supposed to have more layers and thus impressive effects enable.

According to Tesla when the new colors were launched, the first Tesla Model Y in Quicksilver should be delivered in 2022 and Midnight Cherry Red from 2023. And at least one Model Y in the new Quicksilver has now been presented by Tesla at the Auto Zurich trade fair in Switzerland. At the 35th Auto Zurich trade fair, Tesla is now officially presenting one of the new colors. So far, these have only been shown on promotional videos.


The fact that Tesla is present as an exhibitor at trade fairs is still somewhat unusual, as this was very rare in the past. Of course, some videos about the new color quickly appeared on YouTube. It is pleasing that next to the Tesla Model Y in the new color Quicksilver there is a Model 3 in the more gray Midnight Silver Metallic, so that a direct comparison between the two colors is possible.
