In this country, some established car manufacturers are increasingly complaining about the low demand for electric vehicles and are cutting back or even temporarily suspending their production capacities in order to meet the supposedly lower demand. On closer inspection, however, it becomes clear which manufacturers are having problems here and that there are even manufacturers who are able to further expand their production capacities and thus increase them. In China, on the other hand, these problems do not appear to exist; according to the local manufacturers' association CAAM, more than one million electric cars were sold for the first time in November. However, it should be noted that plug-in hybrids also count as subsidized New Energy Vehicles (NEV). However, production also reached a new record above the million mark, to which Tesla made a significant contribution with the highest monthly production to date in the Chinese Gigafactory in Shanghai.

With 60.5% the Model Y remains the dominant model. The Model 3 is after the Highland upgrade again up 79% from August and at it's record levels.

According to a report by CnEVPost, the manufacturers' association CAAM put sales of Chinese-made NEVs at exactly 1.026 million in November, which corresponds to an increase of around 30 percent compared to the previous year. The proportion of all-electric cars is 70 percent. The leading manufacturer in China is still the large car manufacturer BYD, although it does not only sell pure electric vehicles there. Now to the data from Tesla - in November, Tesla sold a total of 82,432 Model 3 and Model Y sold from its Chinese factory. These are not the highest sales figures, which were over 100,000 vehicles sold in the previous year. Nevertheless, the sales figures are higher than those of recent months. It is worth noting that Tesla's production in China reached a new record in November, as was announced this week: 90,800 electric cars, extrapolated to around 1.09 million per year. This means that Tesla has extracted more from the Chinese Gigafactory than the current capacity figure of ">950,000".
