Just a few days ago we reported on the first release notes for the new software update 2022.40.1. Tesla is now starting to roll out this update in America, and other countries will follow soon. In a tweet on Twitter, a user reports that with the extended software update 2022.40.4 there is a code for vehicles without an ultrasonic sensor so that the system should receive distances to other vehicles and objects via the existing autopilot. With this, Tesla could close the current gap for vehicles without ultrasonic sensors. No distances are currently displayed here, only the camera image from the side and rear cameras helps when parking. It is currently not known whether there is a distance display in centimeters as previously known. Here it remains to be seen until the first Teslas without ultrasonic sensors have received the software update 2022.40.4.

He also reports that there should be a new wiper motor that should be able to receive the latest firmware updates.
