Tesla improves automatic emergency braking assistance to further minimize accidents!

Tesla recently released a new firmware update for its electric cars that includes both documented and undocumented changes. While the official new features include the ability to turn the left scroll wheel in the models' Model 3 and Model Y for various settings, there are also undisclosed changes. The service Not a Tesla App, which specializes in such updates, has found that the scroll wheel on the steering wheel can now be used to select the menu for operating the windshield wipers instead of just using it on the central screen.

Another important and undocumented change is the increase in the speed at which Tesla's automatic emergency braking function kicks in. Previously, the function could only be activated at speeds up to 150 km/h. With the new update, the function can now be activated at speeds of up to 200 km/h, and even when reversing. This undoubtedly contributes to greater safety. This innovation cannot be found in the release notes, but only online in updated Tesla manuals.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has indirectly stated in a related context that its own electric cars are 100 percent safe. Along with the Model S, the Model Y received the highest safety assist rating of 98 percent to date, according to tests conducted by the Euro NCAP organization. This is confirmed by a recently released video of a private observer showing the cut-off of various cars in tests conducted by Euro NCAP. In the video it can be seen that the Model Y unlike other vehicles does not have a collision with anything. This could indicate that Tesla's vision system helps the vehicle brake automatically when there is a threat of danger when turning or on an intersecting road.
