Since the elimination of ultrasonic sensors in October 2022 in the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y most new Tesla owners have been waiting for the software update announced by Tesla, which is supposed to measure distances even without ultrasonic sensors. Most recently, the ultrasonic sensors were also removed for the Tesla Model S and Model Y were cancelled. Instead of the previously known ultrasonic sensors in the front and rear bumper, the already installed cameras are now supposed to take over this task and measure and display the corresponding distance. Tesla is thus further expanding its own "Tesla Vision". However, the rollout of a corresponding update is delayed again and again and statements are not kept. This is currently causing a lot of displeasure.
Now, a tweet from the well-known Twitter user GreenTheOnly gives new hope that Tesla is working at full speed on the expected software update and that we can expect a rollout soon. A first leak shows that it looks like software version 2022.44.11 will include the new Vision Autopark for vehicles without ultrasonic sensors. It is also supposed to detect objects on the side of the vehicle where ultrasonic sensors never existed before.

It will detect objects to the side of the vehicle as well, where there were never USS. https://t.co/RZ9oBAfYu2
