Tesla increases the charging speed of the Cybertruck to a new level: Thanks to the 800V architecture and selected V4 Supercharger stations charging capacities of up to 325 kW are now possible. But Tesla is already looking further ahead: new Supercharger hardware updates are planned for 2025, which promise charging capacities of up to 500 kW.
325 kW: A big step for the Cybertruck
The first 19 V4 Supercharger stations in the USA now enable a charging capacity of up to 325 kW for the Cybertruck - the only one of its kind to date. Tesla-model with an 800V architecture. This is a significant increase compared to the previous 250 kW offered at V3 and early V4 stations.
How fast does the Cybertruck charge?
- From 8 % to 40 % in 10 minutes
- From 40 % to 80 % in another 25 minutes
The charging time for 10-80% is currently around 35 minutes - an improvement, but still not as fast as other electric vehicles with 800V systems, e.g. the Hyundai Ioniq 5 or Kia EV6, which reach comparable charging levels in just 20 minutes.
What does the future hold? 500 kW for the Cybertruck
Tesla is planning to introduce new V4 charging cabinetsthat exploit the full potential of the Supercharger. These should enable charging speeds of up to 500 kW, making the Cybertruck even more competitive. In addition, these cabinets could charge up to 1.2 MW power for the Tesla semi deliver.

How does the Cybertruck compare?
In comparison with other 800V systems, the tests show that the Cybertruck achieves peak values at low charge levels, but that the charging performance decreases sharply as the battery level increases. Tesla is working on improving the charging characteristics of the 4680 battery cells in order to achieve competitive charging times like those of Hyundai and Kia.

With the current improvements and the planned updates for 2025 Tesla is well on the way to becoming the Cybertruck to become one of the fastest-charging electric vehicles.
