What is the Dubai Loop?
The Dubai Loop is based on a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by TBC and the RTA as part of the World Government Summit. The first stage of expansion will be around 17 kilometers long, comprise 11 stations and transport up to 20,000 passengers per hour. The long-term plan is to extend the underground network to the entire city in order to offer a fast and reliable alternative to conventional road transport.
How does the Dubai Loop work?
In the Dubai Loop ride Tesla-Vehicles travel in specially constructed tunnels at potential speeds of up to 160 km/h. Travelers benefit from direct, non-stop connections between the stations. As the entire system runs completely underground, external influences such as Dubai's extreme summer heat or heavy sandstorms hardly play a role. The tunnel construction method therefore enables smooth operation and could significantly relieve the burden on public transport.
