Application tips:
Preparation: Thoroughly clean the damaged area prior to repair. First, carefully remove rust and coarse dirt. Be careful not to damage the surrounding car paint. Then use an ear swab and silicone remover (if not available, (if not available, use benzine) to remove the fine dirt. In the case of heavily rusted areas, a rust converter such as Tannox is recommended beforehand.
Apply undercoat: Shake the touch-up stick vigorously for at least 30 seconds before use so that the paint particles are distributed evenly. After opening, dab the brush on the touch-up pencil bottle or on a piece of plastic or glass, do not brush. This is necessary to remove excess paint from the brush, which would result in a thick uneven paint application. Carefully dab (do not brush or you will create streaks) the paint onto the area to be repaired. Be careful to apply the paint only very thinly. If the paint is damaged only in a very small area, such as a stone chip, use a special paint dabber or toothpick to apply only small portions of paint. Try to apply very thin layers if possible.
Temperature:The ambient temperature when working should be between 13 and 25 degrees Celsius. Direct sunlight should be avoided. This can cause the car paint to dry too quickly in places. If the temperature of the paint is below 10 degrees Celsius before processing, it can also be warmed up carefully with a hair dryer, otherwise the paint applied with the touch-up pen will not bond properly with the old paint layer. The touch-up pencil itself should always have a temperature of approx. 20 degrees Celsius and should never be exposed to frost.
Warnings:Repairing paint damage yourself with a touch-up pen can be very successful, but in some cases it cannot replace a visit to a professional paint shop. The use of the touch-up pen set is always at your own risk. The user is responsible for any damage to the vehicle caused by the use of a touch-up pen. Car paint should never come into contact with the eyes or mucous membranes. Furthermore, it is recommended to wear disposable rubber gloves when working with touch-up pens. Do not store the car paint near children or animals.
